ContactSafe — Privacy Policy

ContactSafe ("the app") is a private, on-device vault for your contacts and the files, notes and events attached to them. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. It is published by Heinrich Leifeld GmbH (the "developer").

Data stored on your device only

All content you create or import in ContactSafe — contacts, phone numbers, addresses, photos, documents, notes and events — is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to the developer's servers, because ContactSafe has no account system and no backend server. The developer cannot see, access or collect this content.

Data sent off the device

The only information that can leave your device is location data, and only when you actively use a map or location feature:

• When you open the map to pick or view an event/contact location, coordinates are sent to Google Maps to display the map and to look up the matching address. This is handled by Google under its own Privacy Policy.

This location data is used only to provide the map feature (app functionality), is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and is not used for advertising. If you never use a location feature, no data leaves your device.

Permissions

• Camera / Photos — to attach photos, videos or scanned documents you choose to a contact. Media is selected with the system picker and stored only on your device.
• Location — to show and pick locations on the map (see above).
• Contacts — only if you choose to import contacts from your phone into the app.
• Biometrics — for the optional fingerprint/face app-lock.
• Notifications — for optional event and backup reminders.

Deleting your data

Because all data lives on your device, you are in full control of it:

• Delete any individual contact, file, note or event inside the app at any time.
• Use the app's backup/export feature to keep or remove your own copies.
• Uninstalling ContactSafe permanently deletes all of its data from your device.

The developer holds no copy of your data, so there is nothing to request deletion of from a server.

Children

ContactSafe is a productivity tool intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
